PSINet's international high-speed switched network is the largest facilities-based IP network in the world
consisting of over 1,000,000 miles of OC-12 fibre (622Mbs) and is one of the primary backbones that comprises
the Internet.
Their network covers five continents, 29 countries and boasts 900 PoPs, so access at lightning speeds is available from
anywhere in the world. This is achieved by hundreds of public and private peering points reaching globally through one route or another.
There is a maximum of 6 hops across PSINet's global core network. Less hops means
not just faster transmission but also low packet loss and latency.
